"Baseball is in Full Swing"The smell of fresh cut grass, spring showers, and blossoming flowers indicated the start of spring. For those in sports, the coming of spring also begins a new season. For a group of guys at Wes-Del High School, spring begins their baseball season.

"A Lap Around the Track"
Not only are the final months of the school year ticking down, the final season of sports is in full swing. For freshmen, this is the sports season to finish their first year as a high school student. For seniors, this is the last season they get to spend as high school athletes. For one sport in particular, they are jumping and running towards the end of the year. They are running the last few hurdles of the 2016-2017 school year.
"Wrestling with Their Weight"
Wrestling is one of the toughest sports. There are so many mental and physical demands that must be met in order to even participate in practices. Some of us have never watched a wrestling meet, but even then, watching a meet only scratches the surface of what the sport of wrestling encompasses. The hardworking and determined Warrior wrestlers at Wes-Del High School shed light on what the world of high school wrestling is really like.
"What is Winter Guard"

It requires a strong commitment and a whole lot of dedication. Color Guard and Winter Guard are are very closely related but are not the same. "One Team, One Family, One Goal"
“One team, one family, one goal” is the motto for this year’s boys’ basketball team. Senior, Sutter Foster, says that this is more than just a saying. It is a fact. “This is what we are. We are a family and these are my brothers. We will stick together through everything, fight for each other, and help each other out in any situation.” This family started four years ago when this year’s group of seniors, Sutter Foster, Tanner Keeley, Tevin Richards, Tyler Rector, and Jacob Newsome were just freshman with a new coach, Mr. McGlothin. They have grown together and have become family.
"Lady Warriors"
The Wes-Del girls basketball team has hardly been recognized as a winning team in the past, but the 2016 girls' basketball team believes they are going to change that this year. The girls have already started to make changes in this year's program by winning their first game and working extremely hard to become a winning team.
“Coming Home to the Wes-Del CommUNITY”
Homecoming at Wes-Del High School is one of the biggest weeks of the school year not only for students and staff, but also for the community. Community is defined by Webster Dictionary as “a group of people who live in the same area such as a city, town, or neighborhood.” The people who live around Wes-Del High School are more than just a community, they are family, and homecoming is like a giant family reunion.
"Warrior Sportsmanship"
Over time Wes-Del Middle/High School has become known for its sportsmanship. Wes-Del continues to be recognized by community members, parents, coaches, opposing teams, referees, and parents/fans of opposing teams for their sportsmanship and positive attitudes, win or lose. Whether it be the players, fans, or coaches, sportsmanship of Wes-Del is continuing to be a leading example of good sportsmanship.
"Inside the Warrior Huddle"On Friday nights during the fall sports season you can find some of the Wes-Del students crowded together in the metal bleachers facing the football field, and some students you will find standing on that grass gridiron field waiting, preparing, focusing on that evening's task, which is to catch the oblong, brown ball in the end zone more times than the other team. This is something the Wes-Del Warrior Football Team of 2016 intends to do, but achieving said goal hasn’t always been easy for the Warriors.

Girls Varsity Volleyball
"Young but Mighty"
"Young but mighty" is the Wes-Del volleyball program of 2016. Over the years, the Wes-Del volleyball program has become more popular and well respected in the county. They were the 2014 Class A champions, 2011 Class A champions, and 2009 State Championship runner up. The Wes-Del volleyball program is taken very seriously on and off the court. In 2015 the volleyball program lost six seniors, who also happened to be their starters. There are factors increasing the pressure this season, like losing the six seniors from last season, winning championships in the past, being runner up in the state championship multiple times, and having younger girls on the team this season. It's easy to see that many of the volleyball players are feeling the pressure.
